How I help

Care shaped around your family

Every passage is different. We begin with a conversation and build support that fits — nothing more, nothing less.

Working alongside hospice

Hospice cares for the medical journey. I help carry the human one — filling the hours between visits with steady presence and practical help, so your family can simply be together.

My support is non-medical. I don't diagnose, prescribe, or provide nursing care, and I never replace your doctors or hospice team — I add a gentle layer of comfort around the care they provide.

Planning

Planning & preparation

Time to think clearly, make your wishes known, and feel ready — long before a crisis.

Unhurried conversations that lower fear and make decisions easier before they arrive. I help you put words to what matters, understand what lies ahead, and feel prepared rather than caught off guard.

  • Honest, unhurried conversations about wishes and worries
  • Plain-language guidance through advance directives and paperwork
  • Comfort and care-environment planning — how the room looks, sounds, and feels
  • Family meetings and coordination with your medical and hospice team

Who this is for: For anyone with a recent diagnosis, planning ahead for themselves, or a family who wants to prepare calmly.

Vigil

Vigil & bedside presence

Steady presence in the final days, so no one is alone — and so your family can rest.

Calm, experienced companionship during the last days and hours. I hold a peaceful space at the bedside so loved ones can step away to sleep and eat, and so no one has to keep watch alone.

  • Daytime and overnight presence at the bedside
  • Respite so exhausted caregivers can rest
  • A calm, sacred space — music, reading aloud, gentle ritual
  • A steady, guiding presence, explaining what is happening hour to hour

Who this is for: For families in the last days or weeks who want a calm, experienced presence beside them.

Aftercare

Grief & aftercare

Companionship and practical help in the first hours, days, and weeks after a death.

Gentle support in the tender time after a death — quiet presence, help with the first practical steps, and a hand to hold as grief settles in.

  • Quiet presence and support in the hours after a death
  • Help understanding early practical next steps
  • Remembrance and simple, meaningful ritual
  • Bereavement check-ins and referrals to grief support

Who this is for: For families who have just experienced a loss, or who want to know they won't be left alone afterward.

Legacy

Legacy & life review

Capturing a life's stories, love, and wisdom — something to keep and pass on.

Helping capture a life's stories, love, and wisdom — something for those who remain to hold onto. A gentle, meaningful way to begin, whether or not vigil support is needed.

  • Recorded life review and oral histories
  • Letters to loved ones
  • Memory books and keepsake projects
  • Ethical wills — passing on values, hopes, and lessons

Who this is for: For anyone who wants to leave something behind, and families looking for a meaningful place to begin.

Fees & accessibility

Clear and gentle from the start

Every family's situation is different, so care is arranged around what you actually need. The first conversation is always free, and I'll share clear costs in writing before we begin — no surprises and no pressure.

  • A free, unhurried first conversation — no obligation.
  • Support arranged by the hour or in simple packages, to match your needs.
  • A sliding scale, with a few reduced-fee spots each year — please don't let cost keep you from reaching out.
  • Doula care is private-pay and not covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or most insurance (it may be FSA/HSA eligible — check your plan).

Not sure where to begin?

That's the most natural place to start. Reach out and we'll find the way together.
